Exercise for Healthy Skin

Exercise is good for keeping your skin healthy, as well as many other benefits.

By increasing blood flow, oxygen and nutrients are more readily carried throughout the body's organs, including the skin. Drinking plenty of water also helps to keep the skin hydrated. Read more

Pilates Helps your Lymphatic System

The Lymphatic system is part of the immune system and helps defend the body against disease, absorbs liquid from organs and transports them to the blood; maintaining a healthy fluid balance within the body. It helps drain toxins from cells and tissues as well as distribute immune cells throughout the body.

Unlike the heart that pumps blood through the veins, there is no pump in the lymphatic system. The circulation of lymphatic fluid is dependent on the movement of the body. The more movement, the better the circulation.
Pilates is useful to promote the lymphatic fluid circulation and drainage through abdominal exercises and deep breathing.

Google Body

Google Body uses a browser to present a 3D model of the body. It provides incredible detail of each of the major systems like skeletal, muscular, organ, respiratory, digestive, cardiovascular and nerves.

You can explore the body close up and from every angle, even from the inside. The detail is amazing.

It may be necessary to update your Firefox browser or download Google Chrome, both are free.
This is well worth the effort, guaranteed. Check it out

Check your Medical Records for Free

Doctors and hospitals are quickly going "digital" with your medical records. This is a big concern for many people. Besides the security risks involved, there is also a question of accurate information. Do your records indicate something that may cause an insurance company to deny coverage or a claim.

Well there is little known service that is required to provide you with a FREE annual update of your records that the insurance companies use.

"MIB is committed to the philosophy that every consumer should be entitled to know the contents of his or her consumer file maintained by MIB and has the right to correct any inaccurate or incomplete information in the record."

Stretching Helps Prevent Heart Attacks

For those familiar with Dr Oz, he notes that 10 minutes of stretching in the morning can reduce the chance of a heart attack. "By stretching out your muscles, arteries become 30% less stiff too! You can do simple stretches like leaning forward to touch your toes. Lie down on your stomach and push your body up with your head towards the sky and then roll your body down and arch your back with your butt up in the air."   Read Article ...

You are responsible for your health

Far too often we depend on doctors, drugs and the health care system to take care of us. But no matter your age or health care plan it is increasingly obvious that the cost will be increasing and the quality of care will be deminishing for most people.

So you need to invest some time to take care of YOU. A few hours every week will have a tremendous effect on how you feel and will have long latsting benefits. So get out and get going!

Too much sitting shortens your life

The more people sit around, not getting exercise — the shorter their average life span, a new study suggests.

The effect remained even after researchers factored out obesity or the level of daily physical activity people were engaged in.

The benefits of exercise on being overweight have been well documented. When muscles, especially those in the legs, are "sitting," they suppress hormones which then affect triglycerides, cholesterol and other markers for heart and other diseases.

The Natural Path to Happiness

Exercise
stimulates the release of the feel-good chemical dopamine in your brain. Just 30 minutes of walking each day can improve your mood. Even stretching has been proven to boost levels of a neurotransmitter called gamma-aminobutyric acid that helps alleviate depression.

Eating good food like fish that contains omega 3 fatty acids enhances areas of the brain that affect your mood. Eat wild salmon, arctic char or sardines, which are also low in mercury. Have a baked potato for vitamin B6, which lowers your risk of depression. Spinach, beans and oranges are rich in folate and filled with blues-busting serotonin.

Sleep
seven to eight hours per night. People with insomnia are more likely to develop depression.

Quiet time
is effective at reducing depression. Meditating and deep breathing help you relax, reduce stress and lift your mood.

Lighten your day by spending more time outside. Natural light can lift your spirits.
